Mistaken Point Cape Race Heritage Inc, a non-profit organization made up of a volunteer board of directors, owns and manages the Edge of Avalon Interpretive Centre in Portugal Cove South and the Myrick Wireless Interpretive Centre at Cape Race. The organization partners with Natural Areas Program, Department of Fisheries and Land Resources who manage Mistaken Point UNESCO World Heritage Site, on various initiatives related to preserving, and protecting the fossil site at Mistaken Point, and educating the public about this magnificent site.

Running the Goat

A working letterpress printshop, with vintage presses. Try printing on our 180-year-old iron hand press. Extensive collection of wood & metal type. Experience how books used to be made – and sometimes still are! The shop area features cards, prints, chapbooks and handmade books by a variety of Newfoundland and Labrador-based printers, including Running the Goat. It also carries the press’s line of fine trade books, featuring a series of award-winning folktales by CODCO alumnus Andy Jones.

Southern Shore Folk Arts

The mandate of preserving and promoting the unique culture and heritage of the Irish Loop Region. The organization is non-profit and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who along with staff have worked to bring this mandate to a reality. One of the first priorities of the SSFAC was the revitalization of the Southern Shore Folk Festival which is known today as the annual Southern Shore Shamrock Festival. The Festival offers the best in Newfoundland / Irish music by featuring local and established performers.
